What This Program is About
Pain is a given with workers’ compensation injuries. Workers get hurt, have pain, and seek relief from that pain. Some pain medicines are good, some are bad and some are toxic and addictive. This presentation will teach you to identify the most prescribed long- and short-acting opiates, understand their positive and negative attributes, and gain an understanding of the toxicities associated with both types. You will also learn about the most commonly prescribed short-acting narcotic/acetaminophen combinations and their risks. Lastly, Dr. James will share her insight and knowledge so that you are able to determine patterns of emerging chemical dependency. Upon completion of webinar please email any questions to Bonnie Prater at bonnie.prater@wsiassn.org.
