Self-Insurers Association Involvement Form |
| |
The
success of any organization is directly related to the
level of involvement of its members, and now is a great
time to get involved in your Association’s committees.
Please
note: Committee membership is not automatically renewed
from the preceding year!
If
you would like to get involved, please fill out the Involvement form and fax or email to WSIA.
Here are the six WSIA committees and their duties:
WSIA
Membership & Marketing Committee
The Membership & Marketing Committee’s role
is to help develop a formal membership and marketing plan
for the Association that will promote our services to
nonmember companies, as well as meet the needs of current
members. Your commitment would be approximately five (5)
or six (6) meetings between July and June, as
well as acting as a “good will” ambassador
at WSIA events throughout the year.
WSIA
Conference Planning Committee
The Conference Planning Committee is a committee that helps
carry out continuous and comprehensive education
programs related to worker’s compensation laws,
regulations, and the dissemination of information on all
relevant matters to the membership. Your commitment is flexible: if you are involved in assisting
with any one program, it would entail approximately four
(4) meetings between July and April. You may
choose to assist with more than one program during the
year.
WSIA Regional Meeting Committee
WSIA
Legislative Committee
The Legislative Committee’s overall purpose is to
consider and address all legislative issues that might
impact self-insured workers’ compensation and make
recommendations to the WSIA Board of Directors. This is
accomplished in a proactive manner by encouraging as broad
a representation and participation on the committee as
possible. Our goal is to continue the positive work being
done to develop our legislative agenda, keep the membership
informed, and solicit feedback from our members. Your
commitment would be approximately six (6) meetings between
July and June, as well as to support the Vice-President
for Legislation during the legislative session.
WSIA
Amicus Subcommittee
[open to Employer and Attorney members only]
This specialized committee reviews guiding factors for
use in consideration of filing Amicus
Briefs by the Association, to assist in the Board of Directors’
ability to ascertain whether to
accept the recommendations of the committee and file a
brief.
WSIA/AWB
Legal Subcommittee
[open to Employer and Attorney members only]
This joint committee with the AWB (Association of Washington
Business) helps review
legislative issues, draft bill and amendment language
to meet legislative goals, and provide
guidance for our legislative and administrative activities.
