August 2011 Report
Greetings fellow Associates - and any Employers who are curious to see what we are up to!
I hope you all are enjoying the first days of summer, and are finding time away from work to play in the sun. This is also the beginning of a new year for me as the VP at Large for Associates, and I am in the process of mapping out my goals for reaching out to you as your representative. I plan to schedule several meetings this year for us to get together, to learn about important resources we offer to our employers. In addition, we hope to gain some insight to the challenges our employers face and where we can make a difference. We all have a unique area of expertise that is valuable to our clients and the organization. Sharing our experiences will heighten our ability to communicate our willingness and commitment to help our employers be more successful.
If you have ideas on meeting topics or presenters you would like to hear from, please contact me. Do you know an Associate member who has a new program or “tool” that would be helpful to us in our work? Do you have ideas on how to integrate our various services so that we can present a cohesive approach to our employers? Are you aware of an employer program you would like to see highlighted as a model approach to a specific problem area? I would love to hear your ideas so we can incorporate them into future meetings and programs.
WSIA values its Associate members and would appreciate your involvement and participation in committee meetings and future program planning. Your attendance and input is essential to the success of our organization. When your expertise is needed, please volunteer to assist as issues arise. With new legislation this will be another year of transition for all of us. We want to meet these challenges together with a strong membership as we use our combined knowledge and skills to steer us toward accomplishing our mission: “To provide premier industry leadership and highest quality services in the field of workers’ compensation and specifically to provide support to employers through legislation, and provide education and technical services to members”.
I look forward to hearing from you and seeing you at future meetings and conferences. It is a pleasure to represent such a fine network of associate members. Thank you all for working with me and the WSIA organization as we move forward in our 40th anniversary year!
