Hello WSIA Members!
The snow is falling today in my neck of the woods...not sure I’m ready for Winter! Stay warm!
Here is what’s happening in the training world...
WWCP On-Lines Self-Study - Winter Quarter Updates
Registration for Winter Quarter will be open in early December. Here’s the link to the training program webpage. Just scroll down until you see the web-based training and click on the course you want to register for: WWCP Self-Study
Certification Review Course
The next Certified Claims Administrator test is on Tuesday, December 6th. That means our Certification Review Class will be held on Sunday and Monday, December 4th and 5th. We apologize for holding a training class on a Sunday but we are bound by the date of the Department scheduled Claims Administrator test. Class will be held at Approach Management Services in Lacey. Registration is open. Don’t take the test without taking the class! Cert Review
Complex Claims
Our two day Complex Claims course will be held February 6th and 7th at Vigilant Counsel for Employers in Everett. We are making some substantial changes to this course based on the feedback from last year’s class. The changes haven’t been finalized yet so our website promo still reflects the course description from last year. Watch for this to be updated in December. The changes we are making are geared toward dropping some topics that prior attendees felt were too basic for a complex class and making the class far more interactive with many hypothetical scenarios we will work through together. I encourage everyone with 3+ years in the workers’ compensation industry to attend (even if you attended last year). We will be submitting this course for CEC approval. Watch for more on this in email and on our website. Complex Claims
Webinars
I am working with the IIU Board of Regents to determine advanced webinar topics for later in this program year. We will also be presenting new calculations webinars. Watch for more information on these over the next couple months. Some of our archived advanced webinars are still available for purchase on our website. You can purchase these and archived webinars on our website’s Training Program page. Here is the link: Training Programs
As always, if you are interested in being a facilitator or speaker or if you have an idea for a training program, let me hear from you! Email me at bonnie.prater@wsiassn.org.
Until next time...
