Hello Everyone,

I hope you all had a nice Memorial Day Holiday.  Can you believe June is here already?

What’s Happening?

My focus right now is on the Washington Workers’ Compensation Professional courses for the upcoming program year.  I recently polled our membership with regard to desired locations for WWCP courses and have compiled the results.  Based on demand, the WWCP classes will be held in the following areas during the 2008-2009 program year:

Renton

Olympia

Everett

Port Angeles

The Renton class will be live with videoconferencing to the other classrooms.  The class schedule is as follows:

Statutory Requirements…09/09/08 – 12/02/08

Medical Information…….01/06/09 – 03/31/09

Claims Management…….04/07/09 – 06/30/09

The classes will be posted for registration on our website approximately 6 to 8 weeks before the start dates.  If you have any questions about the WWCP program or would be interested in instructing at any of the classes, please email me at bonnie.prater@wsiassn.org.

We will be offering our Claims Adjudicator Examination Review Class (Certification Review) on June 18th.  If you are approved to take the Exam on June 19th, I suggest you register for our class to help you prepare.  You must register by June 11th as homework will be sent out on June 12th.

Volunteers Needed

I am looking for volunteers who are experts in each of the three areas of WWCP to help review and update the curriculum to ensure accuracy.  Each volunteer will review a certain number of chapters and make recommended changes to the chapter text, exercises, and test.  I am currently recruiting for Statutory Requirements volunteers.  If you are an expert in this area, I would welcome your help.  Please send me an email at the address noted above.
