Coordinator's Corner

WSIA Training Coordinators
Well, here it is. My last article and Mike’s first.
As I’ve said to so many of you, I‘ve really enjoyed the last six years. I’ve made many new friends and learned so much about workers’ compensation in Washington. (I’m not sure if that is a good or bad thing).
I will miss working with WSIA’s staff. Dave has been there to support me through it all. He has allowed me to grow as a trainer/instructor and become a good friend. Kaye and Bryan have been great to work with, and have helped create an office environment where we have fun while working in an effective manner.
For the last two months I’ve had the pleasure of working with your new Training Coordinator, Mike Corso. He brings the Association a wealth of training knowledge and a desire to help us grow. He will move us forward, improving on what already exists while offering membership new and exciting programs.
Please provide Mike the same great level of assistance you have for me over the last six years. Any accomplishments I’ve achieved would not have been possible without your assistance.
Herb Sherburne
WSIA Training Coordinator, Retired
Now a few words from Mike…….
Hello all,
I look forward to working with all of you, and ask for you patience and understanding, as I learn about the Workers' Comp world. I will endeavor to make the Training component transition as seamless as possible.
My conversations with Dave are energizing, regarding both continuing the quality Training programs that Herb built and put in place, as well as Dave’s vision of how the WSIA Training Coordinator position can continue to grow to provide Training in a variety of ways to accommodate your pace of life, and the various ways you can access that Training.
I’ll miss Herb and all his mentoring, as you know there is only one Herb, and I wish him the best of luck in his SEMI-retirement, I say SEMI ….Because… I will be calling him ad infinitum, as I begin the process of getting to know all of you, and the issues you want training on, in the wonderful world of Workers' Comp.
But in the mean time…Take care!
I hope to see you at the upcoming conferences, as we start an exciting new year!!!
