Hello WSIA Members! 

Well, the heat wave hasn’t hit us like it has most of the rest of the nation.  I’m thankful for that but some sunny warm days would be nice! 

Here is an update on what is happening now…

WWCP Fall Quarter Opens in August – All Three Courses will be Available as Self-Study On-line Courses

Summer Quarter is still going on but we are gearing up for Fall Quarter registration.  Watch for an email from us providing information that registration is open.  Claims Management will be added Fall Quarter so all three courses will be available.  If you are interested in obtaining or finishing your WWCP designation, get ready to register!

IIU’s Advanced Webinars

Our advanced webinars are still available for purchase on our website.  Webinars are a great way to get some education without the expense of travel.  You can purchase these and archived webinars on our website’s Training Program page.  Here is the link: Training Programs

Certification Review Course

We had some interesting results from the last Department Certified Claims Administrator test.  Initially, it looked as if the attendees at our Certification Review class had a lower pass rate than the testers who didn’t take our class.  However, after some digging, I discovered that everyone who passed was either in our June class or took our class one of the previous two quarters.  Therefore the actual pass rate for our attendees was 66%, with 10 of 15 passing.  The one non-class tester did not pass.  Once again I say, don’t take the test without taking the class!  The next test is coming up on September 21st.  You only have until August 7th to get your application to take the test into the Department.  You can find the Department’s test application form in their website’s form section.  Application for Self-Insurance Claims Administrator Test.

Program Management Course under Construction - Update

We continue the process of developing our program management course.  We have been holding some open design workshops to determine what this course should look like and have had some excellent discussions.  If you haven’t participated and would like to be involved, there is one last opportunity to attend a design workshop on August 8th in Spokane.  If you have specific suggestions and can’t attend, please email those suggestions to Katrina Zitnik KZitnik@costco.com and Terri Nienkark terri.nienkark@seattlechildrens.org. Stay tuned for more information as this new training program develops.
