Hello Members!

I hope you are all staying warm during this cold snap! Here is what is happening in the WSIA training world:

Certification Review Class:  We just completed our December class.  We only had 9 students this time and 2 did not test.  Of the 7 who tested, 3 passed and 4 failed.  The pass rate for our class was 43%.  The overall pass rate for all testers was 30%.  (The 3 from our class that passed were the only testers to pass the test).  Congratulations to those of you who passed.  For those of you who didn’t pass, don’t despair.  We had many first time testers in the class and this very difficult test often takes multiple tries to pass.

If anyone is questioning whether or not to take the class before taking the test…I say absolutely!  Our class pass rate is always higher than the pass rate of those who didn’t take our class.

The next test is on March 17th.  If you are approved to take the test I urge you to take our two day review course on March 15th and 16th.  It will be open for registration on our website about 6 weeks before the test.  Don’t take the test without taking the class!!

Complex Claims Management:  We unveiled this new training program in November.  I was very pleased with how well the class went and the positive feedback we received from the attendees.  Our instructors, Craig Bock, Deanna Moran and Kathryn Kunkler, did an outstanding job of presenting this new training program.  Thank you to the IIU Board of Regents and the instructors for all their help in the development and presentation of this new training program.

WWCP: The Statutory Requirements section has now ended.  The Medical Information section starts on January 5th.  The courses are offered in Renton and Portland.  This is an excellent class which can definitely increase your medical terminology and medical management skills.  Registration will be open until just before class starts so if you are interested, please register today.

Advanced Webinars:  WSIA is offering four new advanced webinars this spring.  Here are some tidbits to build your curiosity…watch my column and WSIA emails for more details.  These training programs will be posted on our website for registration soon.
