Greetings!
The last couple months have been busy and exciting ones. I have been learning so much about my role, the inner-workings of our association, and the membership we serve. I am enjoying attending our training classes, working with the WSIA staff, getting to know the facilitators and curriculum, and getting to meet and get reacquainted with members. I have been observing classes and reviewing the training we provide and have a lot of great ideas on further developing our curriculum and class offerings to better serve you.
In December, we held our Certification Review Class to help those members preparing to take the Department’s Certification Test. Each time we offer this class, the pass rate on the test improves! We are currently waiting for the results of the December 13th test. I welcome your feedback regarding the Review Class and/or the Certification Test and will use it to improve the class. Please send me an email if you would like to share your thoughts. bonnie.prater@wsia.org. By the way, the next Certification Test will be administered by the Department on March 20th. If you are interested in applying, you need to do so by February 3rd.
I have recently finished reviewing the curriculum for our WWCP Medical Information course, which starts on January 8th. If you have not yet considered pursuing your WWCP designation, please give it some thought. Being designated as a Professional in Washington Workers’ Compensation is a quite an honor and a true reflection of your skills, knowledge and accomplishments in the industry. See our website for an overview of the program at http://www.wsiassn.org/public/training_programs.html. You can also contact me if you would like further details.
After the Holidays I will be focusing on presenting the TTD, LEP and PPD Webinar series. My goal is to present this series prior to the Department’s Certification Test. I’ll also be working on Claims 1 and 2, which are coming up on February 7th and 8th. And, don’t forget about the Winter West Conference being held on January 18th at the Inn at Gig Harbor. Check the website’s Training Programs and Conferences page for agendas, accommodations, and registration information.
I wish you all a Happy Holiday Season and the best New Year ever!
