I hate to say it but Fall is just around the corner...The good news is that the changing leaves mean it’s time for IIU’s Fall training programs!  Here are some highlights…

WWCP Fall Quarter Opens in August – All Three Courses now Available as Self-Study On-line Courses

Fall Quarter registration is now open for all three WWCP Self-Study courses.  If you are interested in obtaining or finishing your WWCP designation, register now!  Here’s the link to the training program webpage.  Just scroll down until you see the web-based training and click on the course you want to register for:  WWCP Self-Study

Certification Review Course

The Certified Claims Administrator test is on September 21st.  If you are approved to take the test, don’t forget to register for our two day prep class which will be held on September 19-20 at the ESD in Tumwater.  Registration is open.  Cert Review

Legal Workshop

IIU’s WSIA Legal Workshop is coming up on October 20-21, 2011 at the Inn at Gig Harbor.  We have new instructors and a new agenda this year!  Bernie and Gibby have decided to take a break from instructing the legal seminar and Kathryn Kunkler and Nancy Thygesen Day have graciously accepted the challenge of filling their shoes.  Kathryn and Nancy will cover the key information you always look forward to but will also discuss the 2011 legislative changes in depth.  We have already submitted the course for CECs and will know the credits awarded by the second week of September.  These will be added to our website posting.  You won’t want to miss this event and space is limited so register now!  Legal Workshop

Introduction to Claims Management

New location, new instructor, and new date!  Our Introduction to Claims Management course will be held on November 7-8, 2011 at Vigilant in Everett.  Our fantastic team of instructors: Patty Hicks, Penser; Craig Bock, Bock Consulting; and Lawrence Mann, Wallace, Klor & Mann, have a welcome addition this fall.  Erinn Hyre, Sedgwick, has agreed to join the team and assist Patty with the claims handling portions of the training.  This introductory class is a must for anyone with less than 3 years in the workers’ compensation field. It is also a great course for self-insured employers who want to understand what their TPA is doing and why.  Registration will be open in September.

IIU’s Advanced Webinars

Our advanced webinars are still available for purchase on our website.  Webinars are a great way to get some education without the expense of travel.  You can purchase these and archived webinars on our website’s Training Program page. Here is the link: Training Programs

Program Management Course under Construction - Update

We continue the process of developing our program management course.  We have held some open design workshops to determine what this course should look like and have had some excellent discussions.  If you have specific suggestions and were unable to attend one of these workshops, please email those suggestions to Katrina Zitnik KZitnik@costco.com and Terri Nienkark terri.nienkark@seattlechildrens.org. Stay tuned for more information as this new training program develops.
